Slick! listening to some Albienz (Leyenda) on the 160C now.Jim Henry wrote:A fun thing to do with the Style 160 is to play one of the many available MIDI files arranged for a solo piano, where everything is on MIDI Channel 1, and change the registration as it plays. Channel 1 defaults to the Accompaniment rather than the Solo so that you can play MIDI files for piano just by turning on the Piano stop. The included "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" and "Ben Hur Chariot Race" MIDI files were made by recording performances of piano MIDI files while I added the registration changes.

Brilliant where do you find the time to do this.
Here is a link to a couple of websites that have converted pianola rolls into midi files that are available for free download.

I have put three midi files from pianola.co.nz in http://www.jbwebserver.net/mforum/forum ... 2008-11-27 14:51:55

Yes it is the same as the 260 piano but you have the advantage of a sustain pedal. There is also a soft pedal but I suspect that FluidSynth isn't supporting that for some reason. Might be the way the Miditzer interacts with FluidSynth. I do know the soft pedal works with a hardware synth.I don't recall where the piano came from. I think it was some anonymous sound font that had a pretty good sound in a small sound font. Upgrading the piano sound font for the 160 is a fairly obvious upgrade as there are many very good piano sound fonts available. I think they are all larger than the entire Style 160C download though! You might try pianissimum.SF2 which I think has a pretty good sound for a 2.8Mb download. There is a lengthy discussion of piano sound fonts on the Piano World forum.

Thanks for the 160C miditzer. This can be a great
listening program to change piano recordings with adding organ
background.
Reminds me of my earlier music playing days where we had the 'Hammond
Solovox' keyboard (24keys) attached to the piano and combined its solo
sounds with the playing of the piano. I also played pianos where there
was another organ attachment, which lay over all 88 keys of the piano,
and you could add organ to your playing. I think it was made by Lowery.
There are many available piano roll midi files available on the internet.
There are over 5700 midi piano roll files on the Smythe website:

There are over 5700 midi piano roll files on the Trackman website:

Have fun & much listening pleasure with the many oldies piano rolls!!
