THE KIRK OF DUNEDIN ORGAN FOR SALE

Post by orcvirtual » Thu Jul 02, 2015 12:25 am

This is the stuff of legends! Designed and built by world-renowed organist Terry Charles, owning this console is owning a piece of remarkable history. People who have played this console include the likes of Virgil Fox, Diane Bish, Rosa Rio, George Wright, Carlo Curley, Nicholas Martin, Phil Kelsall, Rob Richards, Rex Koury, Ashley Miller, Peter Conte, Ken Double, Paul Oakley, George Wesner, Kiyo Watanabe, Richard Grant and so many, many more!
Terry Charles, who began his love affair with this instrument in 1966 and STILL curates and hosts the worlds' largest running organ concert series, is starting yet another amazing organ renovation. This time with a brand new console and digital sounds like nothing you've heard within the walls of The Kirk of Dunedin. To make room for the new, the old must come out. This is YOUR opportunity to own a piece of history. This console, by itself or in combination with an Allen Custom 6000 being offered with it, would make a tremendous and exciting virtual organ console. Imagine the possibilities!

Do you know if this organ was sold/moved? I'm asking because it appears the building suffered a fire in May 2023 which would have likely damaged it if it was still in there. Church has a different name now and seems to be much more contemporary based on recent photos.

Thanks
